Once again, a very skilled composition. The dark at the bottom moving into lighter shades and up past the horizon line gives a sense of depth and scale that makes this image a world unto iself. The peeling and wrinkled texture adds authenticity, and also highlights the elements of decay in the lower buildings. Are those construction workers down there? Attempting to restore the landscape?
